Date: Tuesday 21st July 2009 Location: Woodford Café, Movie Towne. Trinidad Promotions: Woodford Café Click on thumbnails to see the big picture/entire gallery The headline for this weeks Unplugged Tuesdays read the following The Summer Series Continues: 3 Bands take the Stage! Humm, sounds like some action TJJ ought to be all up in ... dont ya think??!! Well without hesitation, we made headway down to Woodford at around 10-ish, all to meet a place that was already packed. No problem for us however, as we were quickly granted access. Talk bout hospitable treatment ... sweet too bad!
The band, Lanyap, was already performing and efforts to reach stage side was very difficult at this point. Patrons were all swarmed up stage side soaking in the bands musical performance. We were even fooled for a moment initially, as the stage for tonights performances had taken a new and bigger location. A definitely sign of how big tonight feature was going to be.
After a brief intermission, Skid Nevely took the stage. This is a band known for entertaining and pleasing crowds, especially when frontman Andrew McIntosh starts showcasing his steelpan talents. This skillful fusing of the tenor pan into their rock melody is such an unusual blend, that it is sometimes known to hypnotize the audience musically.
Twenty minutes after Skid Nevelys performance, it was now time for band number 3. The nights main feature, Kes the Band, was here for the launch of their new video Stalker. After being given a brief introduction, all eyes took focus on the many screens around. Now the song has been airing on the radio for about a week or two now, and seems to be getting a lot of love. So, the release of the video can only help to give the song that extra momentum it needs to become a chart climber. Applause could be heard from all around after the video ended, and then without wasting any time Kes the Band began their performance, doing some of their other popular numbers. During Kess recital, Andrew (Skid Nevely), joined him to do a little collaboration that went down quite nicely.
That is mostly how the cookie crumbled this Tuesday at Woodford Unplugged. Be sure to check out all the other upcoming Tuesdays this summer as well, because from what we hear, there are a lot more big acts scheduled to appear each and every week. So people, stay tuned!
