What's up my Kings and Queens? Ahhh ... DC Carnival, one of my favorite US Carnival's was upon us and to kick it off right, yuh gyal started out the weekend at TRIBE IGNITE fete held this year at new location, the Gallery in Silver Spring, MD.

Ok, so bracelet check, outfit good, lewe go inside. Now before I continue, I must make mention of the two bars in d place. One conveniently located downstairs was pack up to cater to the carnival babies by the lounge, while the upstairs bar (see photo) catered to those wining criminals who wanted to step outside for some air (because it was hot like fyah inside) or a quick chat. Did someone say free Heineken? Yes it's true, someone did and ahem ahem, I won't mention any names but one fellow Juicer was definitely lookin out with 5 in hand and snapping pictures all at the same time. Did I mention us TJJers are fabulous multi-taskers?

To set the mood even more, Hoppie and Devon Matthews of TnT's RED 96.7FM were on hand to hype up the crowd on the mic. It was great to see them in action, they have such great energy! At around 1:00am, I heard words that no feter should hear ... BAR IS CLOSING!! Wha de hell? I looked around to see everyone packing up ice and drinks and lockin up the liquor. After making sure my watch hadn't stopped (and picking my jaw up from the floor), I set out for some explanation. Have you ever heard of a fete where the bar closed at 1:00am? Well besides in Delaware!! *lol* I looked around to see if anyone else thought this was odd and sure enough, all fetego-er's ram jammed the bartenders for a last shot of Johnnie or final cup of rum.

But we didn't let this deter us from our mission to have a good time! After getting over my Johnnieless glass, I continued to wuk up my waistline to the music and chipped out the fete at around 3:00am. Not bad for my first night in DC!
