TJJ reach down a little late, but with good reason. It was a classic Trini Carnival day! A 4am wake up call, a flight from the ATL to MIA and on to POS. We went directly from Piarco airport to A.W.O.L "Ah Lime Without Limits" and from A.W.O.L straight to Eyes Wide Shut (EWS). By the time we reach EWS we seeing double. It was perfect timing though, Machel Montano HD were gearing up to blaze down the stage, and the crowd was already in ah frenzy. We believe KES the Band had just performed. Let's head on in and check the action.
Smooth entry for the TJJ crew and we head straight backstage to chat with some folks ... large up Kevin Lyttle (photo) on the inside. It was time for HD to hit the stage. "Chatting" briefly with Machel he responds to some questions but wants to save his voice for his performance, straight to the stage he goes. It's very rare that an artist chats with the media just before they get on stage, large up Mr. HD for showing the TJJ fam love. No need to tell yuh HD (with performances by Zan, Farmer Nappy, Anthony B, Patrice Roberts and Ricky T) proceeded to mash down the Oval, and though the rain may have shut down the TJJ TV cams, it did not dampen the spirit of the crowd one bit! So much so, after HD mash down the place, the crowd stuck around for Roy Cape featuring Blaxx, Olatunji and Trini Jacobs who were having a banner year with their smash hit, "Breathless".
We going 24 hours straight with another big day lined up in the Fetalotathon® tomorrow, time tuh buss d tape and catch forty winks. Before leaving, we chatted with very sexy Trini Jacobs backstage - look out for that interview - and made a quick pit stop on the HD Bus to chill with Kernel & Machel (photo) for ah minute.
Large up Stephen, Matthew & The Commission crew for showing TJJ love every time. We there next year like clock work. Flame On!
