Starting on Friday night, May 29th and continues through to Tuesday June 2nd. The event is to showcase the talents of fashion designers and up and coming ones from both Local and Regional. As TJJ arrived on location, we could tell it was a serious head turning, eye popping event just by the attire that the guest were wearing and the expensive cars that arrived to drop off the specially invited guests. As the team made their way inside, we where greeted by brides ... yes young beautiful woman dressed as brides to be awaiting their groomsmen to be at their side. Up the stairs were more brides but different styles of dresses. I think I found my wedding dress, thank you fashion week for the wonderful display before the main event. As we waited we had a chance to sip on cocktails and enjoy the finger foods, meet and interact with the sponsors like Sasha Cosmetics who introduced some of there new products. Bmobile, Tresemme and much more were also present.
The top entertainers, honorable ministers and the popular faces of Trinidad & Tobago were having a time caught in up in little gossip before the show started. Lights, Camera, Action ... the nights featured presentation was about to start. We had front row seats, ready to snap every moment of it. A small presentation started as everyone paid close attention to the dancers as they interpret fashion through dance with simple body movements. The team of the night was BREAKING GROUND. As the various designers' designs hit the stage the audience would applaud the models and the clothing by making comments such as marvelous, oh la laa, that is beautiful and the list goes on. The nights designers were DLRD, Fairiiworld, Michaels Vogue Design, Brown Sugar, Sonia Mac who displayed some of her carnival costumes, just in a more fashionable way of wearing them. The crowd favorite had to be her East Indian wear which went along perfect as the Indian Arrival Day Holiday is approaching. CPFS, Claudia Pegus stunned the audience with her unique designers and the wire bended face mask that her model wore. Heather Jones display was wonderful as always. My favorite of the night and I am sure many of the women who attended would also agree, had to be Gregory and Coline Mills of Millhouse Menswear, as the well fitted suits looked so perfect on the gorgeous men who modeled. They had all the women jumping off their seats wanting to get a piece of the models as they teased us ladies with their seductive walk on the runway. One of our the major highlights of the night was Americas Next Top Model Cycle 11, Brittany Mckey Sullivan. The 20 year old looks just like on television, really no difference. She did an amazing job on the runway as she graced the stage with our local designers' fashions that she enjoyed modeling. She even planned to take back a few items for her friends and her family. As the nights glamorous occasion came to a close, patrons seemed pleased with the display. As we exited the main room out into the hall, everyone was greeted each other and talking about the great job done. Hats off to the FWTT hard working team ... a job well done. Looking forward to tomorrow night's presentation. See you all there! Your
