Yes all carnival posse ... we on de final stretch of the Fetalotathon®! Carnival Saturday and it's another fete we heading to of course. This time de fete is Trini Posse, which was held down at The Hanger in Chaguaramas. Now as if it wasn't enough that we ran into a whole heap of traffic on our way down, but some where in between we realized that we forgot some vital equipment, and had to take de jamming two times over upon our return. When we go ever reach ... lol!
Well after getting over the first hurdle of reaching down to the venue, we quickly made entry just after midnight. On stage we caught Destra with band Atlantik performing to an enormous sized crowd. We might have still been fresh but everyone there seemed to be well in de vibes already. Sean Paul's added appearance with Destra only created more of a frenzy and excitement for the Trini Posse crowd, especially with the ladies who had no hesitation to "Free It Up"!
After about a half hour break in on stage entertainment, Machel Montano HD then hit the stage. First, "Out On De Road" with Machel was Zan singing his 2008 groovy soca hit. "Chippin'" in after Zan was Farmer Nappy who then performed his ever so popular song for this season. Ms. "Thunder Waist" Patrice Roberts came on stage next. With four sexy and skillful back up dancers along with support from Jamaican artist Macka Diamond, they definitely showed the audience what "Wukkin' Up" was all about with hula hoops and all.
King David Rudder also appeared on stage to perform his collaboration with Machel of their song "Oil and Music". Then it was time for a little break in the HD show as room was made for Kerwin Du Bois and Shal Marshall to perform their song "Gyal Farm" to a most enthusiastic audience. On his return, Montano then had the crowd bussing some cheerleader type dances to "Defense" (which features Pitbull and Lil Jon). The "Pressure Boom" man, Ricky T was then joined on stage by reggae artist Mr. Vegas as they continued to instill heightened levels of energy unto the crowd.
So ya talk about a big cast line up! Machel's performance probably lasted for about one and a half hours and was pure niceness. Afterwards some fete-goers buss de tape, while others stuck around to continue partying. With the way the traffic was building on de outside, we wished we could party much longer too! But with all the Breakfast parties and "Dusk til Dawn" fetes now picking up, there was not much time to hesitate. Like we saying all season long ... IZ REAL PACE!
