TJJ was up in the mix around midnight. We got into the venue just as the crowd began to fill out nicely. In the VIP section, people were getting there grub on while dancing to some good music from DJ High Fidelity/Less Than Zero. The all inclusive VIP section was well stocked with an impressive food and drinks list including ham, turkey and pastelles. In any Trini Christmas season, it's just a must! The drinks menu was equally impressive with Jaagermiester and Chivas Regal just to name a few. Stolichnaya Vodka was also a huge hit with the ladies. Chivas regal, the main sponsor, was well represented by some of Trini's finest young ladies giving out free shots. They weren't the only ones, Axe also had a promotion of there own. Some lovely ladies went around arresting male patrons. There was definitely little to no resistance... who wouldn't want to be taken away by these ladies. Maybe it was the Christmas spirit in the air, or the nice vibes but everyone was ready and willing to smile for the cameras. We like! The ladies came out in there numbers well dressed as usual. There was easily about 1,500 people at the venue by 2am and the crowd had moved to the dance floor. High Fidelity/Less Than Zero made way for the well known Detrimental sound, Ryan on the tables and Hollywood Sachi on mic had the crowd jumpin', wavin' and just having a good time... Soca congo line n' all, yes!! Feters started going up on stage in pure jubilation. Mr. Slaughter also made a guest appearance during this session. Just when we thought it couldn't any better, Slaughter raised the temperature on the dance floor. He shared a crowded stage with several committee members and partygoers all jumpin' to d beat as he performed his big 2007 hit "Spread the Love". Soca in meh vein, Soca in meh blood ... the entire party sang along! Then it was back to the music. After that session we had to hit up the bar get some drinks. Detrimental was followed up by the infamous Hans and Gonzo show to close of the dance. They brought a different mix to the dance, playing hits like the Fresh Prince of Belair theme song, and even the Captain Planet theme song. This was a big hit with the crowd and was well accepted. Hanz and Gonzo closed off the night with a bang. Another highlight of the night had to be the appearance by Poonks the Bear, a now well known Polar bear who recently jumped on the scene and has been creating a lot of hype. Highlife Affairs have truly out done themselves this year, and TJJ will definitely be up in that next year. The promoters asked us to thank all the sponsor that made the event possible, as well as, the patrons who we all know had a great time. Under the Mistletoe was definitely the place to be that night! Until next year, TJJ out!! ==================================== |
