Come Sunday August 17, patrons can expect an event of ‘earth-shattering proportions’ at the Queen’s Park Oval, when Islandpeople unveil the array of costumes in the launch of their 2009 presentation - ‘Heaven on Earth’- it’s what you make it.

Heavenly cascades will be the order of the evening, in the big reveal that is sure to leave partygoers in awe. According to Creative Director, Marlon Grant, “Next year’s theme is a powerful one. It is our way of paying homage to some of the things, the tangibles and intangibles that we hold dear, that give us ultimate delight, if only for a brief, unexplainable moment. Our ‘heaven’ represents those things that on personal levels defy definition – like a touch or a ray of sunlight.”

The launch of ‘Heaven on Earth’, starts at 6:00 p.m. and runs until 12 midnight. Tickets, priced at: Advance $200.00 and $150.00 for masquerades, are available at the Islandpeople Mas Camp, 11 Stone St. Woodbrook, IF House, 105 Tragerete Rd. and the West Mall and Long Circular Mall outlets of D.H.
