Afterglow is the perfect ending to an Event filled Labor Day in New York. What more could we want?! See you next year!
CROWD:
The place wasn't ram. It was just right. You could move around with ease and wine your heart out. Unfortunately my toes suffered a great deal of distress due to getting stepped on by unforgiving stilettoes. The thirty something crowd were all approriately dressed in carnival fete fashion. ie lots of shorts, cute sandals, hot short dresses and jeans. Cricket fans might have been excited to see Mervin Dillon on the scene enjoying himself.
VENUE/ACCESSIBILITY:
Typically the Labor Day festivities are in a backyard of some sort in Brooklyn. This event was at a truck repair yard that was remodelled with wooden panel walls, bar and upper deck. The glow from the black lights on the white tulle drapes and paper lanterns added to the fun. The space was ideal for the turnout and we did not have to worry about gettting dusty feet since the ground was paved. But man, was it chilly! This year you just had to have long sleeves or just wine and drink a whole lot to stay warm!
VIBES:
The vibes are always hyped for this event as it's the "las lap". Folks wasted no time getting their "set ups" and wining low low low. The DJ's had the crowd jamming hard for the entire evening. Big up to DJ Stephen out of the Atl! His session had folks jumping and waving like they were still on the parkway. Not to mention the old school session with big tunes from the Kisskidee Caravan click. $hel$hok we definitely took a jam for you! The music was ON!!!!
SERVICE:
THe NY Caribbean Vibes team always give you service with a smile. Gotta love them. The security was tight but polite. We especially love that. And the sexy ladies at the bar were on point.
FOOD/DRINK:
Now I vaguely remember food because we were all too busy with the winery! Lol! Folks did not spare any expense at the bar. Bottles were popping left and right! I hope everyone had their designated drivers.
COST/VALUE:
These days money is tight and the cover was a cool $20. No scene. $20 is the new $5 anyway!
Did we forget anything? Add your 2 cents below...
