Bliss All Inclusive was a serious creeper that really made my Crop Over 2009 experience complete. An absolutely gorgeous venue; a very seXy, well-dressed crowd; lots of drinks and sweet music. Let's drive further in....
CROWD:
Exceptional crowd, Beautiful people!
VIBE:
No live bands, straight DJ music ... just the way we like it for these types of parties! The music was pumping from start to finish, and once it started to get dark, the open air dance floor was packed. Of course, you had your partygoers getting their groove on through out the venue. Big up to the DJs.
VENUE/ACCESSIBILITY:
The Sweetfield Manor Historic Bed & Breakfast is an absolute stunning venue ... a real find by the promoters. The waterfall surrounded with all the greenery (coconut & banana trees) added to the ambiance for this great location with a pretty decent view.
"The venue was a real eye opener, who ever knew such a place existed in St. Michael, what a spot!" -- Ludy
FOOD & DRINKS/SERVICE:
It's an Ultra All Inclusive, so the food & drinks spread was pretty decent. They even had Sushi! Bars were well dispersed throughout the venue, and the cocktails (especially the watermelon blend) served were incredibly delicious. Whether you were a wine, beer or spirits lover ... you were covered.
On the downside, the lines for all the food stations were long, so a lot of partygoers didn't bother to eat or weren't able to satisfy their hunger. Part of this problem was the gallant efforts by the promoters to serve partons freshly cooked food (made to serve), which didn't execute according to plan.
COST/VALUE:
$150 BDS ($75US). By the time we spotted Wukup Man towards the end of the evening, he had already "back his shirt" (Non-Bajan translation: taken his shirt off), as he claimed to be the 1st man to "back his shirt" in a Bliss fete and was happy to report that he partied $500 BDS worth.
At the end of day, Bliss was a blast! It was my 1st, and far exceeded my expectations. Once the promoters iron out the food issues (although it tasted really good), this party will be a sure HIT! We are definitely looking forward to next year.
Congrats to The Gentlemen of Esquire... Anthony, Nigel and Paul. Keep up the great work!
