UTM, a regional and international company with main branches located in Trinidad and Tobago as well as Los Angeles, illustrates through its formation a true example of different forces uniting for a single purpose. It is with the same intensity and focus that it aims to truly unify the various facets within the entertainment industry in order to establish a single entity to elevate and expand the entertainment careers of aspiring Caribbean artistes on a regional and global scale.
Ann Marie Abdool, President/CEO of UTM continually expresses her belief that art should not be divided but rather should be a collaborative and complementary effort to make the final product nothing short of masterful. Thus, UTM’s goal to utilize network opportunities, collaborative ventures and strategic partnerships to guide and present developmental opportunities to talented Caribbean nationals has led them to their latest initiative, the International Talent Seminar.
This International Talent Seminar takes place at the prestigious Queen’s Hall, St Ann’s, Trinidad on August 4th and 5th 2009 and is the first of an annual series of “Creative and Development Workshops”. The seminar is targeted at individuals currently involved or wishing to get involved in the entertainment industry in the fields of Singing, Dancing, Acting, Modeling, Songwriting, Instrumental Performance, Broadcasting, Project Management, Video / Music Production.
The event is open to male and female participants ages 14 and upwards inclusive of secondary and tertiary level students. In addition to becoming a member of UTM and being promoted on their website for job opportunities both locally and internationally, participation in this two day developmental forum presents numerous opportunities for all aspiring artistes even the possibility of being awarded a Summer Scholarship to a Top TV/Film Academy in New Yor
k.Patrons will also have the chance to win a trip to visit and experience first hand an actual production studio in New York and four (4) patrons will be selected to participate in an International Competition in April 2010 in New York to compete in the categories of Singing, Modeling, Acting and Dancing.
Other notable benefits to participants are the opportunities to be educated and trained by local and international entertainment professionals, a platform to be auditioned and critiqued by and network with international agents, talent scouts and music managers from New York and Los Angeles, meals, shuttle services, certificates of participation, photo portraits and a music demo recording package from one of the event’s sponsors.
The United Talent Management team maintains that unlike events and competitions of a similar nature, through this effort they seek to empower participants with the knowledge and guidance necessary to be able to utilize their natural talents as well as their earnings/prizes in the most beneficial ways to propel their careers in entertainment to the next level.
