Virginia CaribFest

June 17, 2020 -- In light of the current public health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and with the deepest concern for the health and safety of our valued visitors, partners, vendors, artists, volunteers, staff and community, we are unable to deliver a Festival of the quality you expect. Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 15th Annual CaribFest Festival and Parade, scheduled for August 8, 2020. Cancelling the CaribFest Festival and Parade is unfortunate, but the jarring picture the Coronavirus created and the resulting public safety guidelines involving social distancing, masks and sanitizing requirements, would have been too difficult to enforce with the large crowds of visitors that the Festival routinely draw. Ultimately, with no ability to guarantee the health and safety of our valued patrons, who are always our highest priority, we feel this is the right decision.

Alternate dates and suggestions were considered by our Festival committee, but were deemed unfeasible this year. While this year’s Festival will not be going on as planned, rest assured we will be working hard in the coming months to deliver a spectacular celebration of Caribbean culture at CaribFest 2021 and we can’t wait to celebrate with you.
