March 13th, 2020 -- Breaking News: In light of the COVID19 pandemic, Carnival in Jamaica 2020 will be postponed until October this year.
This announcement was by Kamal Bankay Chairman of Tourism Ministry Sports and Entertainment Network. He is also Chairman of the Carnival in Jamaica stakeholders committee.
Road March parade originally scheduled for Sunday 19th April is now rescheduled for October, 25, 2020.
Bankay indicated that costumes and other items linked to carnival bands will still be valid.
