Port of Spain, Trinidad (November 8, 2017) – The Fashion Exchange Co-operative Society Limited (The Fashion Exchange) will host its first trunk show and fundraising event on Saturday, November 25, 2017.
Primarily in aid of raising funds to facilitate the growth and development of the Co-operative, the overarching goals of the Trunk Show are to help support small businesses, to create awareness of and promote the Co-operative, and to help contribute to the growth, development and diversification of the local economy.
The Trunk Show promises to be an immersive experience and will showcase the works from a select cadre of local designers and artisans who are members of the Co-operative. It will offer patrons the opportunity to shop exclusive capsule collections featuring an eclectic mix of quality merchandise including womenswear, menswear, accessories, handbags, and more.
Registered in 2013 with the Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development, The Fashion Exchange is the first and only fashion-based co-operative in Trinidad and Tobago.
Founded by the late Nicole Edmund, The Fashion Exchange envisions becoming the premier resource for fashion and its related fields in design, merchandising and management within the Caribbean region.
Its mission is to help establish an integrated, sustainable fashion sector with high quality standards and values through nurturing a community with a spirit of creativity, collaboration, and innovation; promoting entrepreneurship, consumerism, and the co-operative idea; and fostering the growth and development of small businesses while engaging in socially and environmentally responsible and ethical business practices.
Open to the general public, The Fashion Exchange Trunk Show and fundraising event will take place at Blue Basin, Cruise Ship Complex, Dock Road, Port of Spain on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
