Boston Carnival Village launches Photography Exhibition "Kids Must Play" on Monday, August 21, 2017

Boston - Friday, July 28, 2017 Boston Carnival village will launch an exhibition titled “Kids Must Play”. The exhibition will be on display at the Caribbean Arts Gallery located on 155 Washington St, Dorchester, MA 02121. The 100 piece collection will be open to the public from Monday, August 21, 2017 and can be seen daily through Sunday, August 26, 2017. It is free for the week.
Kids Must Play is a collection of 100 about Children’s participation in the annual Boston’s Trinidad style carnival have been documented by photographer Michael C. Smith for over 20 years. It is this long history the print represents, and covers a time frame for 2006 to 2016.
Photographer Michael C. Smith migrated to the USA in 1977 from Trinidad and has been actively involved in Boston’s Trinidad style carnival since graduating from Northeastern University in 1983. Michael is the president and CEO of www.BostonCarnivalVillage.com and also did his first exhibition in 2007 called “Streets of Color” which was on display at Lesley University for a month and was well received by the public. Michael is currently working on becoming the next president of Boston’s Trinidad style organizing committee because he believes the current situation with the culture of Boston’s Trinidad style carnival is in need of direction and leadership with vision.
