Born to London-based Trinbagonian parentage, SW Storm has been consistently performing and releasing Soca music throughout the UK and other parts of the world for a little over ten years. After hoarding the lyrics of his new release for almost three years he is now gearing up to release his third track for Carnival 2k9 entitled "J'ouvert Morning."
"I love j'ouvert, the dark streets alive with music and vibes it allows me to free up myself" was SW Storms' response when asked about the title of his new track "J'ouvert Morning." This track was inspired by the popular 80's dance song "Silent Morning" and Storm went on further by saying "The revelery is what does it for me, there is no other way for me to express my love for jouvert other than fusing the melody of my favourite 80's dance song and the rhythm of the road."
Storms' two previous releases for Carnival 2k9 are Sailing and Juicy Lips: produced by Ossie Gurley and Shawn "Mastamind" Noel respectively. After working on "Juicy Lips" with Da Mastamind, Storm went back to his co-conspirator where the ideas and melodies in Storms' heart came alive! When listening to the track the listener will be able to hear every intricate detail in the arrangement of this track. Da Mastamind was extremely excited to create this track and said, "I think that the 80's was probably the best era, musically and i really enjoy music from then and sometimes wished I grew up playing music then ... sent me back to the old days and we just spiced it up a little."
Storms' smooth and sultry voice is one that the ladies love and enjoy at all times. His love for creating music that sets him apart from the masses is what will continue to keep him afloat in the entertainment industry. His lyrical content is not the familiar one we have grown numb too, his style is sure to satisfy the taste buds of those who crave for change. For S.W Storm the creation of music never ends and he is seriously contemplating on dropping more releases for the upcoming carnival season.
