Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. February 4, 2013 -- US Reality TV star, Karlie Redd is on her way to Trinidad. The woman who shot to fame when she was cast on the spin off of VH1’s Love and Hip Hop Atlanta last year, is coming back to Trinidad where she spent a large part of her childhood, and is excited more than anything else, to play J’ouvert this Carnival.

Redd who is also a model, singer, songwriter and television personality who owns her own hair weave product line called Redd Hairline, will be on board the Coral Vision with the trio of No Draws and Chocolate, Strawberries and Chocolate and Chronicles J’ouvert- a band that is offering sensuality and seduction this J’ouvert.

On the weekend, as the J’ouvert band kicked its promotional campaign into high gear, Redd told her liaisons in Trinidad that she wanted to be a part of it. “What we’re doing is merging three very unique packages to create one very enjoyable J’ouvert band – a band that is going down the unconventional road by doing J’ouvert at sea and then taking to the streets when we return at 6am. It’s like a pre party but truth be told- patrons will be smothered in chocolate by the time they dock at 6am,” said an organizer. It was also noted that the early return would allow for masqueraders who need to head home to prepare for Carnival Monday on the road, to do this.

No Draws and Chocolate has been around for the past three years and annually, the experience leaves masqueraders craving for a longer chipping period through the streets of the city. “When we say we’re giving you 10 artistes, we’re giving you that. When we guarantee you a good time- that’s what you get,” said the rep for the band. Registration has been going quite well, according to the representative. “We’re catering for 700 patrons as we plan on keeping this thing tight and jam packed with fun and smiles all morning long. The boat boards at 2am and sails at 3am from the Waterfront in Port-of-Spain. The package is $399 for an all-inclusive experience. Ptarons can choose from one of three sections in the band and really it’s just a choice of t-shirt. Strawberries and Chocolate tees are pink and white, No Draws and Chocolate is brown and white, and Chronicles J’ouvert is Orange.”

Karlie Redd’s desire to play in the band has increased the momentum – this as the band continues its online promotional campaign. Local entertainment website etceterabuzz.com is part sponsor of the experience and judging from the site’s successful Pan on the Greens lime hosted two Sundays ago, many are looking forward to another tremendous experience on J’ouvert morning. Etceterabuzz.com has pre-registration available so persons wishing to book their spot can do so now. The mas camp located at #56 Tragarete Road is also open and continues to take registrations all week long. For further information, J’ouvert lovers can call 223-4MAS or 498-4850.
