Completing a hat trick of victories at the Caribbean T20 and completing a haul of four titles, Trinidad & Tobago confirmed their regional dominance at the version of the game with a comprehensive 9-wicket victory over Guyana in the final played last evening in St. Lucia.
The Honourable Anil Roberts, Minister of Sport congratulated the team who he said “took the red white and black to the world with tremendous pride and joy. As one of thousands of fans, I am tremendously proud of the team and their inspiring performances throughout the tournament. I wish to commend the captain Denesh Ramdhin for leading the team so brilliantly and refraining from the controversy that could have erupted at particular times. I am confident that Trinidad & Tobago’s advancement to the IPL will be a successful campaign in 2013.”
Minister Roberts also gave special commendation to ‘Man of the Series’ Darren Bravo saying that “young Bravo has been consistently brilliant and exceptional during this tournament, becoming a force to be reckoned with at the crease. Darren thoroughly deserves this accolade for the class and entertainment he provided to the T20 crowds.”
The Red Force arrive home this afternoon at 12:05pm and will be welcomed by a party of officials from the Ministry of Sport, Sports Company, TT Cricket Board and sponsor National Gas Company of T&T.
