Industry City played host to Vale Vibe and Sugarcane Restaurant collaboration event Tan Ta Na Labor Day Saturday night. With moko jumbies at the entrance accompanied by the banner with the event name lit under spotlights we were excited and curious to find out what this night had in store.
In a sexy loft space decked out in white and an assortment of colored lights the space looked very ethereal, sleek and the perfect setting to let loose. With the dj both in the center of the room and plenty of room on the peripheral to palance we were ready to enjoy the night. We discovered the lounge area that was heavily air conditioned and also swanky with a quaint sitting area to relax. Next on the agenda was the food station that we had to take a closer look to see what would be sampled for the night.
Creole and Caribbean among were some of the food stations we saw set up towards the back of the loft. We know when Sugarcane throws an event people will definitely come to sample the food and from the comments I heard “it was nice to know what's being offered before getting on line.” With generous portions and nothing but praises on the food the masses were ready to fete.
It seemed after bellies were filled and a few rounds of drinks under their belts everybody started to free up and stop the social behavior. It was an added bonus to have Back to Basics, Bandit, Wax and Dane to get the vibes right and everyone in a fetein mood. The loft definitely had a good vibe.
All that dancing coupled by a completely full house had the loft feeling like a sauna even though there were air conditioners running to keep us cool. Guess when you have West Indians in one room having a time is only heat in the place. Though not many people seemed to mind because the just went for plates to fan themselves and continued to whine.
It was clear that everyone was having a good time and before we knew it the music stopped and the rhythm section started as we chipped out of Industry City. Vale Vibe and Sugarcane gave us a unique and sexy event and will definitely get bigger. The TJJ family had a time and thanks for inviting us.
Did we forget anything? Add your 2 cents below...
