Flash back: A fantastic journey into yesteryear

Dream Team finally got around to presenting their C2K13 presentation at the Ambassador hotel after having to cancel due to heavy rainfall and floods. Their contribution this year? Knowing where you came from in order to know where you’re going, aptly titled Flash Back. After a delayed start, the presentation started with Carnival Monday’s wear. Personally this part of the presentation was unnecessary, although as a man one could appreciate the sexy ladies clad in nothing but tights and thongs. Bearing in mind the band’s 2013 theme, Flash Back, Carnival Tuesday’s presentations lacked that throw back feel. 

The 15 sections long presentation gave nothing of the sort. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, because they did start late, so the band leader didn’t get the time to formally introduce their 2013 collection and properly explain the concept behind the mas. Personally, some for my preferred sections were Dark ages, Burlesque and French Connection. Besides the monotonous pop presentations us as Trini's call costumes, these costumes went beyond the feathers, bikini and beads. When it came to media hospitality, I must applaud the organizers for a job well done. Conversely, someone needs to let these people know that the night of the show isn’t the best time to be working out stage logistics with the models!
