-The success and talent of past contestants have made the sponsors increase the total cash prize to One Million JA Dollars each for the King and Queen.

Wednesday November 5- Kingston Jamaica :- Following its premier on TVJ in January 2008, the much-anticipated Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall delivered on its promise of creating a new chapter in the history of dancehall music in Jamaica. Blessed with critically acclaimed status, Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall is ready for the launch of its second season with the expectation that is will bring fresh new talent from all sections of Jamaica to the masses.

Season two will herald its launch on Monday November 10 with the debut singles and videos of the first Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall winners: Singer Jah and Baby Tash.

The success and talent of past contestants have moved the sponsors to increase the total cash prize to One Million JA Dollars each for the King and Queen and the chance to work with a top producer for a single and a video. If that wasn't enough, the producers of Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall have also created a management agency called Real Jam, which the contestants will have the option of signing with.

Winners of the first Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall, Singer Jah and Baby Tash have had much success since becoming Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall 2007/2008. They performed at several stops on successful Magnum road shows in the summer of 2008 spanning the length and breadth of the island from Kingston to Montego Bay with bumper crowds at each venue. The road shows featured the top ten finalist of the 2007/2008 competition including Wescalado, Doginal, Senita and Mona Lisa. Jamaicans were satisfied with a combination of Magnum Tonic Wine, the sexy provocative lyrics of Baby Tash and Singer Jah's lyrical prowess.

Mark Kenny, Executive Producer of Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall spoke on the success of the first season: "The first season was a huge success; it was phenomenal with superb talent and exceeded our expectations…there isn't much more to say except we're expecting a higher turn-out at the first auditions come November 15 and a bigger and badda show for the rest of season."

The first audition for the 2008/2009 Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall will take place in Montego Bay on Saturday, November 15, when once again the search starts for another Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall.

Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall emerged unlike any other competition in Jamaica creating equal opportunity on stage for both male and female contestants, at the end of the show two winners emerged: one King and one Queen, a first for Jamaica. Mark Kenny noted that market research has proven that the competition has surpassed its target group and has attracted viewers between the ages of 15 and 45: "We had set our target audience between 18 and 35, however our market research showed a wider demography of viewers of the age group between 15 and 45."

For the second time Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall returns and Riddims and lyrics will fire as the prospective princes and princesses will compete in the second season for the top prize of two million dollars and more.

Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall Season 2 is sponsored by Magnum Tonic Wine, and will begin airing on TVJ starting January 2009.
