Raymond Choo Kong directs Nikki Crosby, Clifford Learmond, Cecilia Salazar & Caroline Taylor in new local play “Coming Home” by Theresa Awai at Queen’s Hall
8 March, 2012 (PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD): Carnival is over, and Trinidad & Tobago’s theatre season now begins with a bang. This month, Raymond Choo Kong Productions (RCKP) and TriAlex Theatre Company bring Theresa Awai’s prize-winning new play Coming Home to the Queen’s Hall.
Following a celebrated run at the Trinidad Theatre Workshop last year, Cacique Award-winning actor, director and producer Choo Kong now directs a troupe of decorated actors in this National Drama Association prize-winning new play.
Coming Home features the talents of some of Trinidad’s finest actors, led by Nikki Crosby; Cecilia Salazar; Clifford Learmond; and Caroline Taylor; with Maurice Brash; Chris Smith; and Rachel Bascombe-Koranteng.
Written by Cacique Award-winning actor and playwright Theresa Awai, Coming Home is a hilarious, provocative and heart-warming new play which brings all the bacchanal to the fore when one family’s decades’ old secrets, jealousies, lies, and rivalries are uncovered as four strong-willed siblings (played by Crosby, Learmond, Salazar and Taylor) battle over their deceased mother’s will. In this play we find blood is indeed thicker than water... until everyone reads the will!
The drama unfolds at the Queen’s Hall from Thursday 29 March through Sunday 1 April. Showtimes are 8:30pm Thursday through Saturday, and 6:30pm on Sunday. Tickets are $150 general and $200 reserved seating.
Tickets go on sale at the Queen’s Hall Box Office on Monday 26 March, 12pm–6pm daily, tel: (868) 624-1284.
Tickets will also be available from Green Street Sports Bar & Grill (667-2495); Zippers (Ellerslie Plaza, 628-7978, & West Mall, 633-8308); Stetchers Trincity Mall (640-9274); Michael & Jody's Gulf City Complex (653-0404); and the Card Gallery Price Plaza Chaguanas (672-9842).
