After days of careful consideration, performer/songwriter and musician Kerwin Du Bois has decided to withdraw from the Power Soca Category of the International Soca Monarch Semi-finals. With the semi-final round just a few days away, Du Bois made a decision that he believes is in his best interest. He stated “I want to focus on my performance and presentation for the Groovy category, being in both categories means that more attention may be placed on one song instead of both which I do not want to happen.” He went on to add “My heart is in the Groovy category and I want to give my all there, I hope that my supporters and the organizers will understand and accept my decision.”
Du Bois who was expected to compete in the Power Soca Category with “Make Room” and the Groovy Soca Category with “Bacchanalist” will be performing at number 23. He is calling on all bacchanalists to come out in their numbers to show their support. “The Arima Velodrome will be transformed into the house of bacchanal...I am bringing nothing less than bacchanal come semi-final night” said Du Bois.

Excellent article and this is in deed a noble and wise move by a gentleman whom I consider to be one of the most talented veterans in the soca arena. Best of luck to you Mr. Du Bois.

I feel this is his chance to shine, he is and has always been a talented man. As long as he stays focus, for each of us ther may come a time when we will have to take a stand, a moment when we will have to make a hard decision that may change our lives forever! Blessed love !
