After our stomachs have been filled from all the ham and turkey from Christmas, the Carnival season rolls in for us to burn it off. Time to not just enjoy ourselves, but to Full Joy Ourselves. DJ Titan of the VCD (Vibes Cah Done) family brought forward an event for us to do just so. Let the Jokey One be your guide of this adventure Captain Titan wanted to take party goers on. TO THE REVIEW!!!
Well for starters, it rained. It rained ALOT. I was at first a little worried of what the turnout would've been like taking into consideration the weather, but as the night went by, more and more people kept coming. I guess they were waiting for the rain to stop in their areas so they could have come out to party. Any way, time to full joy ourselves! As my self and Solid Juice entered the venue, a photographer and swanky female's nightmare if they're not prepared for it became our reality.....mud. The grassed area was excessively muddy, slowing down the pace of movement between both media and patrons, but eventually, worries were left on the concrete and fun continued on the wet brown carpet.
Now Titan again proved that the "East Side" has their share of beautiful ladies. Under labelled tents of areas in the Trincity/East vicinity, sexy ladies huddle under. I'm not sure if it was to represent their areas, or just to shelter from the rainfall. Either way, it was a nice touch for people to represent their area. Patrons came in toting their coolers stocked to the brim, but seeing that the new trend is "Coolers Out....Buckets In", the variety of buckets that came in was mind boggling. Makes me wonder how can Trinidadians catch on to the instructions of a song so quickly and still struggle to follow the laws of the land?
Djs had the crowd partying to their selections of 2011/2012 music, until it was time for some live entertainment. Performers such as Prophet Benjamin, Nebula 868, Chucky and RKG just to name a few had the crowd grooving to their contributions for the year, but then we had to adjust our eye sets to go in 4D. That's right, Swappi made his presence well known with his interesting choice of wardrobe. It was only when the lights came off, and his clothes lit up I'm sure a lot of people slapped their heads and said "Oh, I get it now!" He made the ladies get "Goosey Bumps" and "Bubble on a DJ" but had the part goers in a frenzy when made sure and made it clear that for this season we are not partying with a cooler but we are rolling with our buckets. The always beautiful MC; Whitney Husbands introduced Shal Marshall and Supa Jigga TC as the two sexiest men in the industry at the moment. Now I won't even comment on that so let's move on before I have to sing a verse from Shal's song about getting in "Trouble." Mr. TC's contribution called "Action" seems to be the groovy favorite at the moment because there was an effortless reaction of approval, especially by the ladies.
It was then time for Mr. HD aka "Double M" to hit the stage. By this time, people forgot completely forgot about the mud and it suddenly turned from a cooler fete to a cooler jouvert party. Machel brought out his whole arsenal; from his old hits, to his new hits, to his soon to be hits. There was one he sang that carried the same name of a particular venue on the avenue that I believe is going to have both heads and waistlines rolling. Can't wait for the official launch *big grin*"
It was a Joyful night indeed. Must say hats off to DJ Titan and the VCD family. ""De Vibes Cah Done" and it never did. To all performers, great job and good luck in the Soca and Groovey Monarch 2012 which will soon be upon us. The Jokey One alongside Solid Juice had a time in Trincity...on to the next one
