Trinidadian Mr. Shammi Partners with Bob Sinclar for New Worldwide Releases Me Not A Gangsta & No No No No

BOSTON, MA Tuesday, December 13, 2011 – U.S. based Trinidadian singer Mr. Shammi has partnered with world-renowned French DJ and Producer Bob Sinclar for the worldwide release of his song Me Not A Gangsta.

A social commentary on the economic crisis gripping much of the world, Shammi evokes a Robin Hood theme of stealing from the rich to give to the poor, taking his own frustrations and putting them into a fun tongue- in-cheek tune with a hypnotic danceable melody that is certain to get stuck in your head.

“I had an opportunity to reach out to Sinclar initially while he was playing in Boston. When I sent him Me Not A Gangsta a few months later, his reaction was almost instantaneous and we got right down to work,” recalls Mr. Shammi.

Mr. Shammi has said working with Sinclar has been an amazing experience. The song blends a great mix of musical styles. It was originally created with Romanian producer DJ Memo which married his Balkan inspired house sounds with Mr. Shammi’s Caribbean slant. With Sinclar on board to give it is Euro house bounce, the end result is an infectious song with a happy feel and a worldwide appeal.



The worldwide release of the song is scheduled for January 9, 2012 alongside the release of Bob Sinclar’s next album “Disco Crash” said to also feature Sean Paul, Pitbull and Snoop Dogg. The video for Me Not A Gangsta has already debuted on YouTube (view here)

A special edition of the song has already been released in France bringing in the voice of popular French singer Colonel Reyel as well. It is currently number 5 on the iTunes dance charts in France. There is a second video for Me Not A Gangsta for the French edition also available on YouTube (view here). The song also has some amazing remixes out by Italy’s Danny Roma and France’s DJ Fredelux.

Sinclar and Mr. Shammi also have partnered up for the release of “No No No No” being featured on the soundtrack to Italy’s Christmas season movie “Vacanze di Natale a Cortina” the longest running movie series in the world. The soundtrack is set to be released on December 13, just ahead of the movie premier on December 16.
