>> View Sun Ville GalleryThe sun was not shining when we got to Sun Ville on Sunday evening around 8 pm. It might be some sort of post – curfew trauma that made me expect the venue to be already full at this time of the night. It was quite empty… but ….there is something specific and indescribable when all you can say is: ‘the place has vibes’… vibes in the air, people just enjoying the music.
Crowd was spoiled to some free Tao sushi rolls and beer. The place looked nicely decorated and we got sunglasses at the entrance. Did not need to wait long for the venue to fill up with people, coolers, and even more vibes. Destruction sound from Slam 100.5 fm and Lerbs and Asward who also are the promoters, were playing lots of reggae/dancehall and soca, perfect fuel for the fire. Sometimes u just need to let the music do its job. Then slowly, slowly the whole place was ‘on fire’ … I blame the DJs who delivered great doses of highly danceable music with new and old tunes, soca, reggae, dancehall, hip hop, dance and more…
The variety was nice, DJ Private Ryan played a good set as usual and then Hyper Hoppa came out with the idea for the people to climb up on stage and go wild which only added entertainment to the night… On top of this the venue was filled with soca stars. Machel Montano, Zan, Swappi, Duce man, Crazy were in the house enjoying it … The sun was down but the place was hot !
Time came to close down the event, content… with a dose of sadness… the vibes still lingering… and all I could say was…. ‘vibes cyah done’…
