Ricardo Drue releases New Track 'Shawty' ft Bunji Garlin
Singer, songwriter, and entertainer Ricardo Drue is back on the scene with a new style, sound and a new vision. Widely recognized for his past hits “Nah Leaving” featuring Soca Diva Patrice Roberts and “No Boring Gyal” the frontline singer for IMIJ & COMPANY blazes the heat yet again, this time collaborating with musical Icon and lyricist BUNJI GARLIN to bring you a remix to one of his releases for 2011/12 “SHAWTY.”
With a mixture of Soca, R&B, Latin and a little East Indian flavor this smooth but edgy release by Ricardo Drue and Bunji Garlin will surely hit it off, especially with the ladies. Produced by JUS BUS and written by Garlin and Drue themselves, the tune provides an expression of how their “SHAWTIES” make them feel. This Remix, which can be heard on your favorite radio station, YouTube and internet-wide beginning mid- October, is laced with intimate dialogue, raw acoustic rhythms, and rich, melodic vocals.
The song doesn’t render the sound of traditional soca but will still make you want to move the same way, having instruments to create an ear-pleasing, catchy composition. “I am very excited about the Shawty remix and even more excited that I got a chance to work with Bunji” says Drue. It’s definitely a great collaboration and a different sound for Drue as he experimented with his voice, singing in a lower tone and range than we are accustom to hearing him. While many mainstream artists have gained their fame through mirroring the styles of their predecessors, Ricardo Drue has defined himself as one of the few who dares to be different because being normal is as he puts it “played out.”
