Wait a minute... did the music stop and they really sweeping up here at Frazzled??!! Okay, we late... time for movements to The Party Stand for the Soca Royal Edition of GLOW!
It’s the wee hours of the morning and only the real soca lovers are still standing (or wukking up), as they patiently wait for Rupee and Lil Rick to grace the stage. We’re sure we already missed the usual suspects like Stabby, Mr. Dale, Mikey and Edwin Yearwood with big band Krosfyah, so inside we go in a hurry.
Rupee delivered his usual solid performance, but didn’t fail to speak his mind to a certain disrespectful patron before singing his 2k11 Crop Over hit “I’m A Bajan” letting everyone know where they were (166 square miles)... and feel proud, Bajan or not (pure love, pure smiles). Crop Over’s prime minster, Ricky Minaj, then re-energized the Party Stand crowd with all his smash hits just before the sun rose.
After the live entertainment ended, Jus Jase ‘The Trini Technician’ got on the one’s and two’s and rocked out with his own unique style, not forgetting to play the top songs for the season. Big up Jase!
With the sun fully out, and D’ Young Juice on route from Trini to Bim it was time to start the ‘Crop Over Planking’ (Frenchie ... you never cease to surprise meh) and hit the highway to Grantley Adams International airport.
Who say hotdogs at Shell gas station?
6:30 ... and don’t look back,
Chooks aka Daddy Juice aka The Carnival Ref
