Being a very prominant party as well as continuing to be strong and always have mass attendance at Trinidad Carnival, Eyes Wide Shut Carnivale decided to mark their footprints in DC Carnival. This being their first year, why not start off with a complete BANG and hence, using Machel Montano HD & Farmer Nappy as their live performance and headline act for the night ... Who else will say that this is not the first of many Eyes Wide Shut Carnavale DC?

We were told that DC Star is going to be the place to be for this event and well the shocking truth is ... it was not! Located in DC - not really sure how "central" it is to the "Capitol" .... blah! ... The venue can be described as a big box; absolutely NOTHING stood out with this venue; a big old square ... blah! ... With the baboons that come as security for this venue - being rubbed down and being told to turn around to be rubbed down ... blah! ... it came with the territory is what I think ... Please be advised ... the crowd was not that different! Ram! Oh Yes! Full! Sweaty! Pleasant ... some! Sweaty ... ALL! ... Black Outfits and Masks were the order of the night due to the stigma that Eyes Wide Shut brings ... however ... the calibre of outfits were a bit shocking and eye burning ... There were a few sexy and seductive ting-a-ling-lings in the crowd ... Lets just say ... Blood Diamonds ...

So after being completely turned off by the baboons that they call security at DC Star; from the door to the "stage" security ... my word ... obese and disgustingly looking characters that have no more than ten (10) words in their vocabulary which INCLUDES "yes", "no", "uhh?", "move", "ok" ... am I being harsh? Whatever! This could have ruined the night for most patrons however it was without fail that this would not happen - On to the stage shows and the ultimate performance that Machel MOnatno HD brings EVERYTIME he performs! An avid and proclaimed fan of DC Carnival he put on a performance for over an hour and a half and sometimes we felt that boy-boy just did not want to leave the stage! The show stoppers for us were the following:

Machel Monatno Licking A Patrons Phone while she tries to record his performance;
Machel Montano grabbing a young ladies head and presses it FIRMLY on his crotch as he wines sexually on her head; and finally
Machel Montano while during his classic and untimely song "Bend Over" told the ladies to climb on mens shoulders, climb on the stage and roll, yes roll their batty, yes yes jirate 'til it break accompanied by Montano himself slapping their bottoms as it rolls!!!

Classic Performance Again By Montano ... The Scornful One Applauds!

Evacuating the stage at 4:15AM to catch his 6:00AM flight which he threw some expletives about his flight - he finally left and the event came to a SCREECHING halt! Now I do not know what happened but the bacchannal that was brewing out on the streets with the locals in DC and of course seeing five (5) police officers running in the same direction after hearing a broadcast on their radios ... uhm? eh? word? really? Time To Go Home!

So for Scorn's Report Card®™ - Eyes Wide Shut:

DC Star is a rubbish and horrible venue with retarded and primeval baboons as security ... Fail!
Bar Service was premature ... take that how you want to take it ... Mediocre!
Machel Montano's performance was a definite memory to harvest and grow in your brain cells ... Pass!
