So it’s the Saturday before Carnival Saturday, just a week away from the greatest show on earth, the foreigners flying in, hotels book up, people collecting their costumes and TJJ wukking HARD (that’s what we call it.... lol) from night til’ morning. Our power levels are most certainly up, as we stopped by Fatima All Inclusive and Temperature 4 concert (and that's just where our team ventured... there's UWI Campus Carnival, Brydens and Kama Sutra still in the mix) before heading to YUMA mas band very 1st carnival party... NEON.
This Saturday is famous for having a number events, but seeing that Mr. Carnival announced his return and inaugurated the Monday before carnival as “Machel Monday” it was just one less event on TJJ’s fete itinerary.
Arriving at the venue, the Hilton Tennis Courts were surely full of NEON lights as the ambience was quite amazing. Lights reflected on all the corners of the courts including a big laser animation projected on the hotel itself. Bars were set up at every corner and these include premium drinks and specialty drinks such as Jack Daniels, Patron and the newest vodka/champagne liqueur to hit T&T, Nuvo.
Ladies, who we assumed would be masqueraders with this new T&T carnival mas band, sure came out in their numbers. A choice from the promotional ladies to the committee members, who were all dressed to impress in there sexy NEON/space outfits... GEEZ ... fabulous.
Performance time. Imij and Co. with Michelle X graced the stage performing her 2011 soca hit “Feting For Days”. Shurwayne Winchester and Y.O.U (whom we haven’t seen much of this season) continued the live action making an impression with guest artistes Maddzart (“The King Road”) and Screws (“Sweet Senorita”) ... crazy vibes. Last but not least, the “Wotless” man himself, Kes, just had everyone getting on wotless as his band brought the energy and excitement. After all, the man say blame him for all your wotless behavior this year! “Come Gyal”, “Wotless” and “Where Yuh From” are clearly three of the biggest soca tunes for 2K11 by far.
A combination of premium drinks, good music and sexyyyyyyyyyyy ladies … the thing was nice. Now for a free drinks party, we expected more vibes, but you know that TJJ enjoyed it to the max and as usual stayed until the men with the rakes came out and start cleaning. So YUMA’s “NEON” is now another event added to the T&T Carnival fete list for the TJJ Party Gurus to cover.
Until de next flex,
D’ Young Juice
