Last Saturday 27th September, The Corner Bar on Ariapita Avenue was the venue of choice for the Hennessy Flaunt Your Taste Donation Teaser, a scaled down version of the high-fashion glam of Hennessy’s Flaunt Your Taste Concept Party Series that made its debut locally on Independence night at the Ocean Pearl Floatel. Not that the excitement was in any way diminished.... guests eagerly spilled over into the streets as the air brimmed with the animated chatter of those thrilled to be part of an international event. Moods were further enhanced by the expertly prepared signature Hennessy world city cocktails Shanghai, Miami, Paris, London and New York with guests unable to choose a favourite as each enjoyed equal popularity.

The Flaunt Saturdays Team have committed to do a Hennessy FLAUNT themed event every last Saturday of the month. The diverse promotional outfit comprises of David Blanc, Jerome Lewis, Wayne Richards and brothers Barry and Brent Perryman. This collection of entrepreneurs are the innovators behind the locally renowned “Flight Cruise” sunset cruise parties, while Jerome is responsible for the similarly themed “Lifesaver” cruise party. Both cruises offer patrons a much-desired social alternative to the normal mass party and club setting. The collective success of both cruise party franchises allowed the promotional team to form a special alliance with Bryden’s, the local distributor of Hennessy Cognac, to host the monthly Flaunt Your Taste events. Flaunt Your Taste is a global Hennessy campaign which celebrates an individual’s ability to boldly portray their personal taste in fashion, music and lifestyle.

Blanc, Richards, Lewis and the Perrymans have decided to push the scope of entertainment to new heights in Trinidad & Tobago. Instead of celebrating their successes in isolation, these gentlemen have decided not to overlook their social responsibility, and have each committed to the team’s mandate of donating twenty percent of all ticket proceeds from every Flaunt Saturdays event to various charitable initiatives.

On Saturday night the first recipient charity was the St Mary’s Children’s Home which celebrated its 151st year of operation on the 2nd July 2008. Guests applauded warmly as Brent Perryman presented a cheque for Ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) to Mrs. Greenway, Supervisor at the St. Mary’s Home, who expressed deep appreciation in accepting the amount.

The St. Mary’s Children’s Home for orphaned or abandoned children, though operating on the tenets of the Anglican Faith, embrace children from every ethnic and religious background, from as young as a few days old. The hope of the patrons and managers is that each child is equipped with the skills, tools, values and confidence to lead a successful life in the world when their time at the home ends. The caregivers, with minimal resources, have managed to maintain a safe haven for the children with beautiful landscaped gardens, nursery and school, halls to promote creativity, and comfortable dormitories. It is a home that the Flaunt Saturday’s team have always admired.

On 25th October, 2008, The Hennessy Flaunt Your Taste Party series continues, at a chic new venue on Ariapita Avenue where designated upcoming local artists and fashion designers will have a chance to showcase their incomparable talents. Once again 20% of all ticket proceeds will be donated to charity.
