It's that time of the year where the students of the University of the West Indies can finally put down their books and enjoy a pre-carnival around their college campus. Hence why it's called, Campus Carnival. Now, I being Jokey Juice had to make my presence known in this one. All the bands looked vibrant, but there was one particular one i had to get my feet wet and waistline moving with; University Berry.
Now this band had three sections, and the name selections had a bit of humor as well as mystery. Mystery meaning "What were they thinking?" One section was called Torch. Inspired by the phone model, but the humor is the rest of the text saying "Torch Ah Button Nah." Second section was Storm, which read in entirity "Doh Storm, wine to the side." Honestly, I get it, and at the same time I don't. Anyway, the final section was "Doh Ping Up!" Kudos for originality.
Now this band had vibes, and the ladies, ahem....I mean respectful college students made me myself want to sign up for next year's tuition. As they paraded the College's compound, the vibes never diminished. From mid afternoon to nightfall they wined to the side, took advantage and acted wotless. If you don't believe me, stay tuned for the video clip!!
Shout out to Kwame Mitchell and the whole LXG and DSI Apparel committee for bringing forth a great band for Campus Carnival 2011. Hope to see more, and hope to be invited to any other projects you all may have in store!
