Monday, November 08, Port-of-Spain, TRINIDAD and TOBAGO:
Come Sunday November 14, the full potential of the Buccoo Integrated Facility will be revealed to those who take up the open invitation to be a part of a day packed with fun-filled activities and entertainment for the entire family.

As the finishing touches are being made, the anticipation is building for the day of excitement in Buccoo, when the Facility will throw open its doors to the public and the features of the spanking new structure shown off. Top all this off with the sumptuous food on sale and it makes for an impressive showing to commemorate the opening of the Buccoo Integrated Facility.

While the Facility was partially opened earlier this year to host the popular, historic, annual Tobago Goat Racing Festival, it was subsequently closed to allow infra-structural work to be completed and for the Facility to be fully operational before the end of 2010.

Tobagonians and visitors alike can plan to spend the day creating memorable experiences, since the slate of events begin early and run well into the night. Tours to Buccoo Reef usher in the morning’s activities followed by the opening of a Games Village for the children at 11:00 a.m. The Facility would not be complete without its star attraction and Goat Racing takes the spotlight at 1:00 p.m. The official opening ceremony commences at 5:00 p.m. followed by a rich, colourful cultural programme at 6:00 p.m.

‘Sunday School’ is re-visited at 8:15 p.m. when the Buccooneers show off their skills on the steelpan, providing rousing music for would-be dancers. The night will wrap with a trip down nostalgia lane with ballroom dancing at Hendrick’s Hideaway from 10:30 p.m.

Lovers and collectors of fine local craft will also have the opportunity to browse and shop in the impressive Craft Market, while history buffs will delight in exploring and enhancing their knowledge when they visit the Museum.
