CROWD:
Walking in at midnight we found Sosta Lounge dead as a dodo.... but apparently people party late in Miami as within an hour, place was rammed! It continued all night with people still arriving after 3am desperate to get their warm up session in for the carnival, if only for half an hour :-) There was an adequate sprinkling of lovely ladies to keep the male population happy and whilst there were lots and lots of men (yes what's with the groups of tusty men?) not much eye candy for the Ladies tonight! The crowd was definitely diverse though...some people came in their work suits, some in their hot shorts...anything goes.

VENUE/ACCESSIBILITY:
Sosta Lounge was easy to find with parking just around the corner from the venue. Don't be confused by the pizza place that seemed to be at the entrance we walked through last year, they just moved it all around a bit to keep it fresh we guess! The venue had two bars, both of reasonable size and also a small terrace area at the front where you could lime, smoke and get corn soup. For those of you accustomed to the smoking ban in other parts of the world, it may take a bit of adjusting to get used to the combination of really strong AC and cigarette smoke...lol

VIBES:
Well ... from the time the place started to fill up, everyone went straight for the bar or the dance floor, and we watched with anticipation the vibes we thought were going to follow!!! However even though peeps came prepped to party and whilst this party was definitely not 'social' something was definitely missing in terms of vibes ... or the lack of 2010 music... not sure, but let's just say if you looking for a real wassy warm up fete this wasn't it... this was more like the calm before the storm, time for you to chill and practice your moves for the big fetes..lol. We were however, treated to a little performance from up and coming London soca star Konata Alleyne 'K-Marvel' who did a great job of keeping the crowd pumping through his performance even though his new song would have been known (we assume) to very few peeps in the dance...! All in all peeps were wining and ginding and having a modest warm up session... just missing a lil spice but we are sure things will heat up as the week goes on!

FOOD/DRINK:
Drinks were flowing all night, buckets of ice stocked up with johnny were seen walking from the bar and champagne was definitely being consumed in vast quantities! Corn soup was on sale on the terrace to sober you up for the drive home! Once food and drink available we have no complaints :-)

SERVICE:
No long lines, well not if you reach 'early' and some sexy barmaids to add to the eye candy catalogue, nice! ... promoters were on hand too to make sure their patrons happy and to guide those Miami virgins in the right direction!!!

COST/VALUE:
To be honest we are not 100% of the cost  but we didn't hear any grumbles so we are assuming tickets/door prices were standard Florida prices...with no hidden shocks in store.

With Corn Soup and drinks flowing, although it may not have been the most exciting, for those arriving early or living in Miami, tonight was a cool little warm up... Let The Madness Begin!
