Just when everyone thought Machel Montano had his 3rd Road March on lock, here comes the daughter of Super Blue, Faye-Anns Lyons with big tune "Get On".
Faye-Ann ran away with the 2008 Road March title, with "Get On" being played at judging points a total of 331 times on Carnival Monday and Tuesday. Blaxx (Roy Cape All Stars) "Breathless" took 2nd place (127) and Machel Montano HD followed in 3rd position with "Blazin D Trail" (72). Congrats Faye-Ann!!

Just pure tempo, simple but effective lyrics that provokes the true bachanal spirit of carnival, not to mention bouncy arangment. Big up to Fay-Ann, Dig it!

This tune is a classic ... I think it's somewhat disrespectful to have it on "dig it or dish it"… come na… somebody say BIG TUNE!!!!!!!

Hi, about Fay-Ann Lyons song… I love it! It was the right song for Road March. Carnival is definately the time to get on.

This song is hot!!!! Dig it. The rhythm, lyrics and music, just perfect for the stage, carnival day….trini, miami, wherever……Ppl who don’t like this song, wasn’t in Trinidad where we were feelin the vybes. Breathless deserved second to Get On!

I could really see a band going down the road behaving bad to this song. The song is sick... Just when you think its okay it hits it high point. She really did her thing with this song. Much Love Faye-Ann. Get-On, Miami going to be sick with dis unless someone comes with something else.

THIS TUNE WAS OK BUT BREATHLESS DEFINATELY SHOULD HAVE WON. NO DISRESPECT BUT THE BEST PART OF THAT TUNE WAS THE CHORUS. BREATHLESS WAS STRAIGHT VIBEZ RIGHT THROUGH.

Get on was not all that,even bordering on irritating. The intro was hot,and the rest just crashed - especially the “waaaaaaaave…hole it”!!!???
Everyone I know prefered Breathless, which makes me think that some DJs have their own agenda, & ignore the people. Well done to Faye-Ann, but the song was not the best on the road. |

There was no other song than Get On for roadmarch because rollin came out too late and breathless was loosing its momentum in Trinidad because Blaxx got taht have carried the tune. I think it is a disrespect to have this song on dig it or dicth it . That is why soca will not reach anywhere. due to the fact that Machel did not win it people have a problem. Get On was wicked.

Trinigirl, I never have no problem with who get roadmarch. The fact is the song sounds amateur and if thats the representation of what is the best of tnt, thats why soca wont get anywhere not people who know soca critiquing it. I wonder if she has any tonsils after screaming that song out.

That is the SHITTEST song ever that Trinidad ever give a road march to. The arrangement is poor, she screams all the way through, the chorus is the only redeeming factor. That said, she gave a good performance and if that was the song people liked (rather than the one pushed by the DJS I am all for democracy) BUT honestly, compared to Jumbie, this song is miles (kilometres, acres even) behind. I simply dont like it. No lyrics. No melody. And the waaave, hold it thing sounds so childish. At least Super Blue used to have a kind of Shango vibe. Faye ann just lucky. The song is shite.
