On arriving, you could not help but notice the groovy Soca jamming from the inside. The crew I was liming with, instantly perked up and was excited to see what the recently changed venue had to offer. As we entered the side entrance to a house, we started seeing hues of red and yellow glowing through at the entrance of the driveway. I gasped in amazement when I saw the glow from the back lighting which softened up the driveway. We were no longer looking at a driveway; we had disappeared into a little oasis. Red and yellow spandex was stretched and placed in such a way one could only wonder who was behind this marvelous creation. It give the backyard a beautiful ambiance and tied in with the Indian thyme. Larry, one of the promoters on the Fun Guys team took our tickets and we continued in. We were shocked to see so many people already there and grooving in their Sari's. It was nice to see more people this year dressed for the event. I think we all have a touch of Indian flowing through us, so dawning the traditional wear of what we grew up with in our country keeps us connected somehow. Orange, turquoise, red, green and pink were among the color choices for the ladies and looked stunning on all the various complexions. There were modified and authentic styles throughout, the one common thing being sequins and bindi's were worn by all the ladies.
Well...there was no time to waste as the rest of the crew made a beeline to locate the food. There was no shame for sure because everyone came with their belly empty. We knew the food was off the chain last year and the same catering team would be at this event again. The ladies serving had on a burnt orange and sequin trimmed tunics and looked absolutely beautiful. Can't forget to mention Natalie's lovely bartenders and their modified twist to the Indian saris. Very nice choice of colors.
Close Connections were the first DJ's to play. The music was groovy and sweet for most of the party. I feel that it was because on one of the hottest weekends of the year people came out to have a good time, however there was no escaping the heat. Sun up or down.
If only there was an outdoor fan. Gosh...It was hot!!!
I was trying hard to catch a little breeze with a 5x6 flyer Ram gave me for his upcoming wild meat party. I took 5 and made a fan out of them. Lol! Back 2 Basics did his thing on the 1 and 2's. I don't know what it is about Palance that gets people to jump and wave from side to side in 98 degree weather but they were doing it. Faces lit up and bodies moving. Heat not stopping as people in their sequined saris jump from one side to the next having a time.
Sounds 4 Life ended off a great night! Great job Party People and Fun Guys! Thanks for a beautiful and enjoyable event. See you next year.
