Following on the heels of several other cooler parties previously held, Mango Republic did well in holding its ground. This year marks the forth installment of the annual cooler party, and without doubt the concept is still going strong by the numbers that came out to indulge in the festivities.
Not to long after our arrival DJs XTC who had the party jumping switched sets, giving way to Rapid Response who continued to pump up the vibes. Adding to the excitement was also a special guest appearance by non other than popular C2K10 soca artist Swappi. We all know of course that Dis Gyal (Nah Go Play) was the song highly anticipated for Swappi to perform. The only thing missing was Swappi-licious!!
Now during the course of the night while drinks were flowing and vibes pumping, mother nature unleashed quite a down pour on the masses. Some of the crowd ran for cover, but the majority took the wetting and palanced from side to side as the DJ tried to play tunes to keep the crowds’ mind off the rain and more focused on the entertainment.
This fete graciously continued all the way up to 4 AM, definitely giving patrons their money’s worth. As folks began to depart, some pit stopped at the doubles stall, some were seen shedding load from their coolers by dumping ice and then there are always those who would appear as if they didn’t have a home, liming back while the cleaning crew carried out their duties. As for us … we ate a doubles or two and then shipped out. Until next mango season …
