I have been waiting for a Carnival like this for all my life. No words, No pictures not even videos (well maybe) could explain or describe the euphoria, the jubilation, or the energy that I have experienced over the last three (3) days and I have only just started on day three (3). Berlin Carnival has you feeling wild, insane, uncontrollably free, remarkably fearless, builds and brings up feelings inside a person that might just shock you, because you never knew these feelings existed and can exude from you  ... could this really be possible? Oh Yes it is readers ... Oh Yes it is!

It is the final day of the Carnival of Cultures in Deutschland! The big street parade is taking place on the streets of Berlin.  It normally is scheduled to start at 12:30pm p.m.at Hermannplatz and then continues on Hasenheide, Gneisenaustrasse, and Yorckstrasse. Where are we at 12:30pm ? Sleeping ... Carnival Glow was RIDICULOUSLY GREAT!!!!!! We still manage to wake up and make it in time to meet up the parade and of course, without a doubt or question in mind ... you know which mas band/section we are jumping up with .... roll the drums ... call in the trumpets ... blow the horns ... YARD / ESCOBAR / Carnival Explosion ... Fantastic Flamingos. Let me personally tell you ... they were bloody fantastic! It was a small band/section with just over 80+ in female costumes and roughly 100+ in flamingo jerseys. A simple design on the jerseys but with that bright fuchsia colour - blending in with the enchanting array of costumes i.e. pretty mas ... this mas band was definitely pleasing to my eyes ... in more ways that one.

The idea is that we go to the Carnival, we walk with our alcohol i.e. our carnival get out of jail free card or our carnival go straight to go card, we find as much people we could dance with, party with, intermingle with, even engage in small follies, listen to great Soca music and feel the entertainment of bliss as it flows through your body. Consuming a grilled burger for breakfast, we have to admit ..."IT LASH!!!" ... now is time for the alcohol ... Jack Daniels with Bacardi Dark Rum and loads of Coca-Cola ... mixed up in several plastic bottles ... or even from the bottle itself ... sounds lovely no? Whatever we drinking, it was going down the pipe with ease ... it was the nourishment for our journey on the streets of Berlin, our energy to keep up with all the waist that will be pelting, which humans we going to pick up and straddle or even throw another human over our neck ... what do you think? Good idea?

Berlin Carnival parade with Yard, Escobar & Carnival Explosion family is what I call an orgasmic blissful heaven. You have numerous beautiful ladies who are just very cool and down to earth - not one female was stuck up or even bad mind or what you call a show off attitude ... I swear everyone was so beautiful!!! There was one point of the day where the DJs instructed all costumed females to stand directly behind the truck - and what a wonderful view was that ... it was spectacular! The truck itself was something of a shocker ... a normal truck turned into a noise pumping machine with what I must say are the best shocks in the world ... I guess Germans really know how to make their car shocks ... When Skinny Fabulous was on the one's and two's with Hendrik and the anthem for Berlin Carnival 2010 - "Duracell" - was being played - the truck itself was bouncing in riddim, in tune, in time ... in complete sync with the wild out beat of Skinny's tune! It has been cemented that "Duracell" is the anthem for the Carnival ... I SAY SO! Of course your crowd favourite "Palance" was played numerous times and I do believe that song should be labelled "forever young" because it cannot die ... no matter how many times it has been played one after the other, or even how many times in one event/party/carnival it has been played ... patrons will jump from left to right, bounce into one another, jump up, wave up, and they will do the instructions even MORE when the DJ says ... we starting from the left ... one, two, three, four .... "PALANCE"!

Since Fantastic Flamingos is the last section/mas band of the entire Berlin Carnival ... you know the band will be consumed with all the people who just straggling by or even walking by - at one point in time - one of the hype men on the DJ decks said "I want 10,000 people following this truck!!!!" and this was before the "Judging Point" or what was being called the "Judgement Point" ... Hilarious! Late into the evening when the sun is setting, a mild shower showed its ugly face but did not stop anything from happening. Upon reaching the last corner - the DJ instructed people ...."this is the last corner, I want you all to get on stupid!" ... LOL ... the firemen who were on their trucks even enjoyed the palancing as the DJ told the patrons to show them how to Palance ... a tear came to my eye!

As the daylight disappeared and it was closing in on night - it was written in cement that we had a splendid vacation for Berlin Carnival 2010 ... A huge shout out goes to all the disc jockeys that were associated with this section/mas band D-One Jam Masters, Hendrik, Soca Twins, Barney Millah, DJ Tate, Threeks, Soca Revolution & Mash Up Crew ... you guys that I have met ... keep up the good work ... you guys taking it far!! Benny from Yard & Escobar & the Carnival Explosion Family ... Love Yourself!

This is the end of an entertaining exhausting extravagant experience ... What's next? ... the After Party ... I could not make ... my old bones gave away ... but I was told it was awesome. Next year, I will definitely save some energy for it and make sure and attend in full. :-) Other than that, early flight out the next day ... back to the grind!
