I am SCORCHED!!! And Scorch Cooler Cruise definitely succeeded in having one of the most epic boat cruises for the year. Everyone came out in their beach attire from flip flops to board shorts, bikinis and even a couple random carnival costumes!
Boarding at 2PM and sailing about a half hour later than the scheduled time of 3PM, due to the late arrival of most patrons everyone was running on Trini time nah, TJJ arrived just in time to walk onboard the infamous Treasure Queen.
The music was flowing with great mixes provided by the likes of DJ Private Ryan, Hypa Hoppa & DJ Dane, Xplosion and more. Each DJ played a versatile selection of music ranging from RnB, Hip Hop and Ole School Dancehall, to the latest music coming out of Jamaica and the biggest hits for the Carnival 2k10 season, that worked the Scorch Cruise patrons into a fevered frenzy.
Drinks were in as much abundance as the music, ok ... much more so! The Scorch committee provided us with some peculiar drinks mixes including Passion Punch (Puncheon and Kool Aid), salt prune tequila, Hypnotic and Puncheon, and sucker bags filled with Passion Punch. The drink mixes as peculiar as some of them may seem, and judging by everyone’s inability to walk a straight line after the cruise, were well received.
This event did not appear to have one dull moment, as the Scorch committee provided what can only be described as the perfect mixture of music, alcohol, location, and vibe! As the cruise came to an end passengers had to be literally escorted off the Treasure Queen, especially since one particularly ‘vibesy’ crew decided to use one of the speaker boxes to create their own rhythm section on the bottom floor of the boat after the music was turned off.
After all this, Scorch gave us that little extra that we were begging for with an after party in the parking lot, with the Red Bull music truck and Xplosion still ripping tunes for the crowd … and just in case anybody needed to soak up the excessive alcohol consumed on the boat, there was a doubles man waiting ... aaahhhhh ... BESSNESS!!
As you know TJJ always has the scoop and we heard from a little birdie that this definitely isn’t Scorch’s last boat cruise ... so partygoers stay tuned. We wish we could tell you more, but we took a solemn oath (which we partially had to break to write this article he he) that what happens on the Scorch Cooler Cruise, STAYS on the Scorch Cooler Cruise!!!!
