Special mention must be made to the security personnel at the location who were very professional courteous and accommodating with my questions and requests.
CROWD:
Whilst there was room for more patrons the size of the crowd was enough to cause everyone to have a good time without (either by accident or design) grooving on someone else with every turn.
VENUE/ACCESSIBILITY:
The Sound Academy affords an intimate setting for concerts and as the name implies is rivaled only by a select few in the audio department. The location is easily accessible and there is adequate parking on site.
VIBES:
The vibes has been described by many as the mood generated by an event and/or instrument. By these standards the Soul Star concert was a resounding success given the performance of Marsha Ambrosius, Bilal, Teedra Moses, Yummy Bingham and.... the man everyone came to see.... Musiq Soulchild. Patrons were treated to a night first class R&B. Kardinal Official was the master of ceremonies and provided a seamless transition between artists.
FOOD/DRINKS:
With three (3) well stocked bars there was no excuse to get to and from the area with the poison of your choice.
SERVICE:
Probably a teething problem with any venture of this nature however it took me just over two hours to obtain a media wristband and gain access to an area that was home to individuals other than media personnel. Compelling and credible images is crucial to the successful promotion of future events. I have every confidence that this would be addressed in the future.
COST/VALUE:
$40 Tickets in advance. You could not have gone wrong!
