The men looked quite smart in their white shirts, pants and square fronts and as usual the ladies were dressed to impress. The wide array of fashion included jaw dropping outfits intended to tantalize as well as amaze.
The conscious vibes of Buju Banton, Bob Marley and other reggae greats filled the atmosphere. Lighters in the air, fingers snapping, dreads shaking.
The voice of
Busy Signal, Jamaican dancehall sensation boomed through the sound system as he 'stepped out' in his red and white attire. Busy's performance spanned the spectrum of his repertoire taking the fans back with tracks such as
'Unknown Number' and 'Step Out' and bringing them up to the time with more mellow singles such as
'One More Night'.
One Redemption goer did comment that the previous shows were 'more culture'. This may just be a result of the evolution of reggae and dancehall music over the years as well as differing tastes of fans but I will leave that up to your judgement. Overall, Redemption 'Dancehall Edition' was a success and I'm definitely looking forward to the next one!
