The assault case against Trinidad and Tobago-born soca star, Machel Montano was yesterday adjourned by Magistrate Maureen Baboolal-Gafoor.
The magistrate adjourned the case to October 8th after the defense presented a medical report claiming one of the other men accused with Montano of assaulting Brandis Browne and Russell Pollonais last April, was ill. Defence attorney Rajiv Persad said Rodney 'Benjai' Le Blanc had a chest infection and is holed up in London and unable to travel.
Baboolal-Gafoor told the other accused and their attorneys that the matter could proceed in the absence of Le Blanc on October 8 if he is still unable to appear in court.
Montano is charged along with Le Blanc, Joel 'Zan' Fezeck and Kernel Roberts allegedly assaulted Browne and Pollonais on April 26, 2007, outside the Zen nightclub at Keate Street, Port of Spain.
