Mother’s Day 2010 will be ushered in with an electrifying thrill, as classic soul giants SOS Band and Ready For The World join first class comedian Kenny Robinson and ace disc jockey Starting From Scratch, for a night of favored nostalgic sounds and laughter. On May 8, 2010 starting at 8:30pm, the Kool Haus – located at 132 Queens Quay, is expected to buzz with excitement; and mothers will be given special honor.
 
Having both enjoyed an impressive number of hits in the eighties, the SOS Band and Ready For The World remain relevant. Their collective lengthy list of memorable hits are timeless classics that have become indelible marks of success.

In 1985 after hitting the top spot on the R&B, Pop, Dance and Video Billboard charts, Ready For The World’s “Oh Sheila” earned the group a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Their single, “Love You Down” - also a number one hit, was released in 1986 the same year the band appeared on “The Beverly Hills Cops III” soundtrack.
 
SOS band has maintained a steady global following since exploding onto the scene in 1980 with their first mega hit, “Take Your Time – Do It Right” - that went platinum. Subsequent SOS hits shaped by stellar producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis included, “Weekend Girl” and “Just Be Good To Me” – both singles from gold selling albums. Initially known as Sounds Of Success, the band’s original lead vocalist Mary Davis and trumpeter/vocalist, Abdul Ra’oof still tour with the new band after more than 20 years.
