CROWD:
We arrived around 12 ish and the fete was already crowded with a long line at the door.  The crowd, most with drinks in hand, was casual chic and already in full party mode.

VENUE/ACCESSIBILITY:
Moka, formerly known as De River night club has been renovated since the last time TJJ rolled through.  I must say the new modern look with the white leather sofas and outdoor deck was impressive.  The main room still has a warehouse type feel to it though.  Well I'm sure you've read about how crazy it is to park anywhere in NYC so I'll leave that one alone.  Lets just say walking for three blocks in the cold ... *sigh*

VIBES:
Well now TJJ is in the building to resume some much needed Palancing!  Palance switch-ON! The super duo Soca Monarch and Road March Kings, JW and Blaze were scheduled to perform tonight so the crowd was on an extra high.  I don't think people can get enough of that song!  Back 2 Basics and DJ Spice held it down in the main room with enough blazing Soca to last till our next flex while DJ's PeeWee, Bullet Proof and Fess (just to name a few) kept the rest of the building pumping with Reggae, Hip hop and Chutney Soca.

Soon it was showtime and everyone quickly shuffled and danced their way to the main room.  MC Wassy passed through and before we knew it JW and Blaze hit the stage.  The levels of debauchery was heightened when Cookie monster made an appearance palancing his way onto the stage!  Balloons were flying and frenzied flags were waving!  1...2...3...4....PALAAAAAANNNCCCEEEE!!!!

Now for carnival in Trinidad everyone seemed to instinctively know which direction to palance in first.  Well not here, because I got palanced on and into!  I was almost palancerated!  Lol! The palancing was out of control! Kudos to JW and Blaze for an exciting first time in NYC!  *Clap Clap Clap* They also performed a couple of their other songs before launching into "Palance" once again, you know, just for good measure.  What a night!  We got a good dose of 'palancery'!

Guess what the last song of the night was... yup... PALAAAANNNNCCCEEE!  Have you ever seen a tent Palance??  Well friends, the overzealous folks on the outside deck proceeded to palance with the DJ tent!  Hilarious!

FOOD/DRINK:
The wait at the bar was smooth, just the way we like it.  Oh did I mention all the Hookah's?!  There was one almost in every corner and table. No worries though, we didn't get smoked out because the ventillation in the building was pretty decent.  However we did spy the FDNY making their usual appearance.
