Each staging of the event brings its own set of challenges and this year brought MORE THAN ITS FAIR SHARE. We changed venues, to ensure that our patrons would have a bigger, more comfortable space, we enhanced the entertainment package to further guarantee a good time and we revamped and elevated all aspects of our production from our VIP area to our entire stage set up.
Despite assertions to the contrary, from the first staging of the original and official water party we have been SEVERELY COGNIZANT OF OUR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. Water has ALWAYS been sourced from privately owned sources and we have NEVER encroached upon the resource that is being supplied by the NWC. Even in the face if this reality, in light of the severity of the drought and in keeping with ensuring that even in a symbolic fashion we do all we can to promote conservation we dubbed this year THE FOAM EDITION. We tweaked our entertainment package to ensure that the majority of our patrons left SATISFIED EVEN IF NOT WET and as such brought in a lot more dancehall. At the end of the night I think we can all say WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME!!!
We are truly grateful to OUR PATRONS WHO SHOWED GREAT UNDERSTANDING and still came out and partied up a storm. Thanks our main sponsors SMIRNOFF and HEINEKEN who worked assiduously with us in the face of mounting pressure to ensure that we had magnificent production. Sincere thanks to ALL OUR OTHER SPONSORS: Carreras Limited, Pitbull Energy Drink, CVM TV, Hype Tv, Kool Fm and… who soldered on with us through thick and thin. We are grateful to the Skinny Fabulous and Khoshens who both had the ladies screaming for more and to Deejays Billy, Richie Ras, Shane the fire starter and ZJ Liquid, YOU ALL SHELL DOWN THE PLACE. To all the hard working behind the scenes family of ISLAND MAS JAMAICA, your contribution is invaluable.
To all the persons who became ENCOURAGED and IMPASSIONED by the water party to focus on a long standing and serious national issue of resource management WE ARE HEARTENED BY ACTIVISM AND HOPE THAT IT WILL CONTINUE. We, at ISLAND MAS JAMAICA, remain committed to providing entertainment of the highest caliber in a social responsible framework that recognizes the right of an individual. We stand resolute in our belief of the power of entertainment and of soca music to bring all parts of our divided society, regardless of class, creed, colour or race, together to create bonds which will bode well for our nation state.
Thanks again for making the official and original WATER PARTY A RESOUNDING SUCCESS.
