The Secrets Of Silk!

CROWD:
2010 marked the Sixth (6th) year of TRIBE on the road as one of the most popular all inclusive bands at Trinidad Carnival, with their costumes selling out, still in a record time of 48hrs after going on sale. The crowd were hyped and ready to strut their bodies, costumes, make-up, abdominal muscles and all possible dance moves past the judges at the various judging points.

A few famous faces were in the crowd which had somehow doubled since carnival Monday, bringing out all those who came to dress to impress.

VENUE/ACCESSIBILITY:
If you couldn't find TRIBE at carnival then you possibly weren't in Port-Of-Spain!
You honestly couldn't miss them! Those letters TRIBE all big and bold on every truck ... The fascinating colours that could not be possibly found blended in any other band! How could you not find them!!!!

VIBES:
The vibes and energy levels on this 2010 carnival Tuesday were great ... however, for some there was a huge or should I say a greater emphasis on looking good over wining their batty and shaking their choonk-ah-loonks on the road .... this has me thinking to shout at them but I refrained from screaming at the few individuals who I saw to "Put down the lip gloss and have fun"!
It was still a great day with music blaring from all directions and a following TRIBE couldn't be anything else but proud of attracting.

FOOD/DRINK:
No complaints at all with the food!
We were all very well fed and a great selection was on offer.
I even noted a few midday snoozers catchin a few zzzz's before the start of the afternoon session ... is that what we call ethnic fatigue???
Wait .... And the drinks?... Flowing like water, jus how I like!

SERVICE:
I'm not sure how much time TRIBE put into selecting staff but over the two days the service really was great.

COST/VALUE:
A pricey option for a vacation for some ... but if you are a carnival fanatic you CANNOT miss Trinidad Carnival and bias as I may be TRIBE is the band to jump with. The price is simply a reflection of its popularity and the level of service you are getting ...

Well Worth Every Cent !!!!!

To Close .... On a darker note ... There were a few incidents at the end of jump up on the road at the mas camp whereby a few people fell victim to gang initiations (a problem I have been told happens in Port-Of-Spain).



We are wishing those affected a speedy recovery.

However props to the TRIBE organizers and everyone else involved, despite a tainted end to the last day of carnival it was a great 1st Trinidad Carnival experience!

I will be back again fuh sure!
