Nearly 140 people from Caribbean Bottlers (T&T) Ltd., the Coca-Cola Company and TGIFriday’s came out on a sunny Saturday to scour the Marianne Beach in Blanchisseusse. On September 21st, the team managed to collect 545 lbs. of garbage from Marianne Beach and hauled away 80 bags of debris from the shore.

The clean up is organised every year by the International Coastal Clean Up T&T and the Caribbean Network for Integrated Rural Development. This year, 24 additional companies formed teams for the effort, and also cleaned up other beaches around T&T.

The International Coastal Clean Up is the world’s largest single-day volunteer effort to eradicate litter and debris from inland waterways and oceans. CBTT and Coca-Cola have been a driving force in this event for the past 17 years.
