Carnival Thursday is here and we now leave Beach House. The TJJ Red Team heads to TRIBE Ignite, but D' Young Juice going Splash to give support to the University massive. The night before was Bacchanal Wednesday and the traffic was disgusting, so it was a pleasant surprise that the traffic was flowing, I guess the boys in blue were doing their job. On the inside Destra & band were on the stage performing “Bacchanal” and “Sassiness” mashing up the place and representing as usual. Denise “Saucy Wow” Belfon and Alison Hinds joined her for their hit “Obsessive Winers (Cyah Wine Like We)” and completely destroyed the crowd! As Garcia performed her closing song, her dancers gave us a taste of the 'bacchanal' as they were rolling on the stage! What a performance!!! Well now tune start to fly “cause we doh stop till the sun comes cause we jamming”. It was pure bacchanal. Them UWI students know how to wuk up. Well all this was the hype to bring on the man himself on stage.
Wild ANTZ!!!!!! Dressed in all red with the dancers in their Antz costumes, Machel Montano HD was on. The entire team in full effect, from Farmer and his “belly dancer” to Zan “slipping away” to Patrice “swaying in the mas” and dancehall artist Busy Signal giving we a taste of “Push Bumpers Remix” and “Send It On”. The fete was rhel sweet! HD represented to the fullest and of course, ending with their 2k9 Road March contender “Wild Antz”. It's 4am, the fete still going and iz crowd for so. Looks like the UWI students forget about class in the morning! With no time to stick.. Bunji, Fay-Ann and the Asylum band hit the stage. “Banana” and “Heavy T” bumpers set it off. Benjai and Scarface gave us a dose, and Edwin Yearwood let go “We On De Way” and the Baje crew in front really handled their business! So it's officially Carnival Friday - 5:30am - and it was time for us to splash out of the Hanger. With the DJs still on the pioneers heating the crowd, TJJ dealt with some Gyros and kept it moving. We must big up all the halls on campus (Trinity, Milner and Canada) for representing (btw the UWI students should get a best price next year for Splash tickets).
