Date: Sunday 26th April 2009 Location: Club Element & The Vault. New York, NY Promotions: Upscale Crowd Ent & Back to Basics Ent Click on thumbnails to see the big picture/entire gallery Hey Honey Bunches of Oats! Finally we have nice weather here in the Big Apple. And fuss dey doh make joke over here, girls are walking the streets in their flip flops n' batty riders already! Back to Basics teamed up with Upscale Crowd Entertainment again to bring Royal Caribbean 2 held at Club Element. The first one was swanky (view coverage), so we weren't really questioning the second one. The party was going from 12 to 6pm so we figured around 2ish would've been a good time to show up ... ha! We got a call saying that nobody wasn't there yet. And when I say nobody, I mean not a DJ, a worker, a bouncer ... nadda!! What the jail is this? We ended up skylarking in BK to kill time. Then we got a call saying that the DJs arrived so we headed up the road. Trini's ... boy, I'm not surprised. We finally arrived and found a quick park. Since it's not out first time at Element we already know what to expect. Thank goodness this time it was not a sweatbox, because if it was, you know I wouldn't hesitate to let all yuh know. We were feeling the vibes as soon as we walked in. Yeah, it was one of those parties that you knew it was gonna be on & poppin'.
Well if you check the chicks in their Sunday bess outfits. It's a good thing I decided to roll up in my cute purple dress because I would've felt like a fish out of water. While taking a lil' pic here there, all of a sudden music came to a hault and Dr. Wax is on the mic announcing that the music won't come back on unless folks stop smoking! In less than a minute, the music was back on an the party swinging again. Then another announcement was made. This time the promoter was announcing that upstairs would be open, BUT for a fee .... hummm. That wasn't mentioned on the flyer. Maybe they forgot that lil' detail out, but say wha, people still paid their money and went. The music was swanky, boy. NY's finest DJ's were on the bill. Natural Freaks, Dr. Wax, Calli B and of course Back to Basics. Everything played... I even heard my songs "Romping Shop" an "Stookie". Thanks Calli B. I ain't hear "Stookie" in ages! They finally opened up the third floor, but by that time, I had no more energy. The vault never saw me. The food didn't either. It was looking rhell good from this girl plate doh. So B2B your next bram is Shine V and it's going to be in Brooklyn? Hmph, I wonder where? Stay tuned to find out! Still
on the wrong man, ==================================== |
