After an action packed day of Jazz vibrations on Pigeon Island (view Saturday Jazz coverage), a quick swing back to the hotel and we gone again. We bounce up a small Red Unlimited crew from last year in jazz and they made us promise that we would swing through their band launch again this year. As if we need an excuse to lime!! Where the comps doh? smileWe're a short walk from the dance but decide to sample some St. Lucia KFC on the way over. Folks, we love St. Lucia like we born and grow there BUT hands down the worst KFC in the history of chickens and the service to match! I am shocked and appalled that The Big Show (TBS) did not warn us. First the Friendship Inn, now this!!! smile

So we reach the venue and once again The Big Show performs a selfless act and goes in ahead of us to let the hosts know we're outside. The backstage gates open up and we on the inside. Thanks for showing the TJJ fam love guys! By now the dance in full swing and we can see the Red Unlimited masqueraders preparing to head up on stage to present this year's costumes. As was the case last year, the costumes look very authentic, like something out of Trini Carnival. Cue the fire breathers, the music and the costumes. The presentation lasted about half and hour and it was time for Onyan & the big band Burning Flames of Antigua and Barbuda to take the stage.

Flames start about 1AM and did not show any sign of letting up until the police had to end the dance at about 3 o'clock. Flames sound good and showed their versatility coming down to the end of their set, but they went on a little too long at 160 beats a minute IMHO, but what do I know.

The night still young so we looking for part three of the lime now. smile Of course, we end up liming with some Red Unlimited crew backstage and by the time we reach XYZ it's about 4:30AM and we basically start de outside the club lime 'til sun come up, like only true West Indians can do. Another full day of action in St. Lucia and we have another day of Jazz to cover in just a few hours so time to catch 40 winks. Thanks again to the Red Unlimited fam, and if plans work out, we'll definitely see you guys on the road for Lucia's 2kWine Carnival.
