"If Yuh Ain't Red Yuh Dead!!"

Tonight, Next Level PoisonUK are set to launch there summer of 'Red' events in the lead up to Notting Hill Carnival. RED = Rhythm +Energy+Desire!!!! Well boy, TJJ got plenty of that, and on this hot Sunday in London, we're off to the world renowned Ministry of Sound. Now this is definitely something different for the average Caribbean event in London. Inspired by the US house music movement, the Ministry of Sound, over the years has established a cult following among clubbers worldwide. Celebrating its 16th birthday this year, the venue remains at heart of the brand, as it’s where the story began, and has also been the catalyst for the company’s many brand ventures and extensions.

The event is carded to start at 6pm, but on this glorious Sunday... it's kinda hard to drag ourselves from topping up the tan/gaping in the park to the inside of a hot club ... and we're not the only ones!! We arrived around 8pm... and it was no surprise to find most people liming outside by the BBQ snapping up the complimentary chicken wings. Now we know peeps excited for this, as man even had their Facebook status set to ... "Off to PoisonUK fuh some chicken!"

The venue seem pretty organised with a very clear and long entrance/exit.. so no need to worry about queues. And if you were organised and got your ticket early from the website, you were inside for just £10 (up to £15 if you wait and pay by the door). Eager to see what the Ministry has in store for us we swoop pass the BBQ limers to check out the redness on the inside! Once inside you could definitely feel the Ministry's techno and house vibe... blacked out walls, a bar stocked full of Red Bull, huge sound systems... big stage ... WE LOVE IT! The first room had one long bar, and drinks were easy to get - choosing whatever takes your fancy! smile Near the entrance was an information zone with loads of info on all of PUK events and packages, the chance to register and also get a sneak preview of this year's costumes. Sexxxyyyy ... we can't wait for the fashion show!!

After about a half hour, the doors to the main room opened in an attempt to encourage people in from the sunshine. Now top choice of venue guys... the main room had a huge dance floor and a big DJ space with a mezzanine VIP level overlooking the whole room. But we're lil' bit worried that it's a Sunday, the sun shining and folks are still basking outdoors... and PUK we afraid too many people missed out on this sexy venue because of the lazy summer Sunday vibe taking over. Say wha ... by 10pm the sun had set, the BBQ limers were on the inside, and we were treated to the sounds of London's favourites DJ Markee, Gladiators and Live Linq. We had Mr. Marvel on the mic, ready to get the crowd going. We get Soca from years back ... my bumper catch ah fire!! We get RnB, we get Zouk, we get nuff Dancehall, we even get some Samba ... right through to the BIG Soca hits for 2009.

Once everyone was on the inside it was easy to catch the vibe.... and then came the stage dancers. Now we not talking sexy girls and poles ... we talking serious breaking hardcore dance troupe.. in RED of course.. busting out some funky moves to get us all geared up for the ''RED - Flame" fashion show. Clearly, the sexy PUK girls and guys have been rehearsing for this one!!! The costumes looked fabulous. And this year, PUK has made sure yuh spoilt for choice ... front line, fun mas, even a sexy little red army option.

After the show, everyone was buzzing as the sexy PUK girls made their way through the dance floor. All we hearing is, "Which section are you in??" PUK look set to take on Notting Hill Carnival this year on a serious level and we cant wait!! By the time the dance really get going it was time to call in a night... work tomorrow! But TJJ not worried, we have a whole season of PUK 'RED' events in store. Check out www.poisonuk.com to see what's the scene is for Rotterdam and the Antillean festival.

After this we know there are some sneaky little after work limes along the way then its on to Wet Fete... watch this space.... PUK your Red summer of events look set to get hotter and hotter.

So remember, if yuh ain't red yuh dead!! Which section will you choose??
